Planning Engineer

We are looking for a Site Planner who wants to play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure and railway projects on the ground.

In this position, you will be the link between planning and execution — making sure what is planned in the office truly reflects what is happening on site. Your work will directly influence how projects are delivered, how risks are managed, and how successfully milestones are achieved.

You will work closely with site teams in Civil Works, Systems Installation, and Testing, while also collaborating with the Planning Team at CAF Headquarters in Spain. This is a highly dynamic role that combines technical planning expertise with real on-site impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Translate project plans into real-time, executable schedules that reflect site conditions.
  • Track progress on site and ensure alignment with the baseline schedule.
  • Identify delays, risks, and deviations early — and help drive practical solutions.
  • Visit construction sites regularly to understand what is really happening on the ground.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to keep all workstreams aligned.
  • Support coordination between civil works, systems installation, and testing activities.
  • Contribute to schedule updates, reporting, and critical path analysis.
  • Support decision-making by providing clear visibility of project status and impacts.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with internal teams, partners, and clients.

What We’re Looking For

 

  • Experience in project planning and scheduling within construction, infrastructure, or railway projects.
  • Strong understanding of project schedules, progress tracking, and critical path methodology.
  • Experience with Primavera P6.
  • Ability to interpret linear scheduling tools (e.g., TILOS).
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to work in a fast-paced, site-driven environment.
  • Industrial Engineering degree or equivalent.
