CAF Israel is looking for a Construction Manager OCS to join our team on the Tel Aviv Purple Line project – a unique opportunity to take part in one of the most significant transportation projects in Israel.

As Construction Manager OCS, you’ll oversee the installation and management of overhead catenary systems for railway projects, ensuring seamless coordination with subcontractors, precise planning, and strict compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate OCS installation activities with subcontractors and third parties.
  • Plan and schedule construction tasks, ensuring seamless project integration.
  • Control material receipt and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Manage work permits, access, and road/voltage cuts.
  • Prepare and oversee installation procedures.
  • Generate and manage reports, including KPIs, to track project progress.
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Management System.
  • Verify equipment and material needs.
  • Propose solutions, make decisions, and negotiate with subcontractors.
  • Communicate regularly with Project and Technical Managers.
  • Prepare work bulletins for design changes.
  • Attend technical, administrative, and coordination meetings.
  • Monitor and manage interfaces with different subsystems.

 

Required Personal Characteristics:

  • Critical Vision of the Environment: Ability to anticipate environmental factors in decision-making processes.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Management and Coordination: Experience in managing and coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, on-site personnel, and partners such as "civilero" partners.
  • Communication Skills: Regular communication with the catenary Project Manager (PM), global Project Manager (PM), catenary Design Manager (Technical Manager), and other transversal area managers (e.g., interfaces, purchasing).
  • Technical Capability in OCS: Strong technical proficiency in Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) as a basis for negotiation with customers and subcontractors, including partial material supply.
  • Improvement Orientation: Development of new products to enhance efficiency in catenary works management, such as digitalization of parts.

 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of railway overhead lines (1.5 kV d.c.) and urban environments.
  • Familiarity with catenary design standards (EN 50119:2020, EN 50124-2, EN 50122-1:2022, EN 50122-2:2022) and mechanical calculations.
  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD; knowledge of BIM methodology and catenary-specific software is valued.
  • Strong decision-making and negotiation skills.

 

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in high-voltage electrical systems, with a preference for experience in railways.
  • High-level English proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading.
