Quality Engineer - CAF Rail Australia - Dubbo

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer, responsible for final acceptance of the trains by the Customer, manage documentation and coordinate activities to ensure that the quality of the final product is up to the highest standards.
The job requires to liaise with Customers regarding product acceptance, reviews of specifications and modifications and to report Quality concerns raised back to the applicable manufacturing plant.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage quality projects to meet specific requirements and satisfy customers.
• Participate in various improvement plans.
• Be able to investigate and identify possible risks.
• Work towards improving business processes to ensure high quality of products.
• Support projects by facilitating adequate communication with all stakeholders.
• Assist manufacturing with analysis and problem solving as required.
• Conduct analysis to produce indicators, statistics and presentations.
• Work to promote quality culture throughout the Company.
• Manage priorities in-line with objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all AU WHSE legislation and HSE Company policy.
• Be fully familiar and conversant with department and Company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are fully compliant at all times.
• Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager.
• Ensure all work carried out is compliant with organisational quality management systems / policies and procedures.
• Other ad-hoc duties and special projects as required.
Record Keeping
• Ensure accurate records are completed and maintained in accordance with procedures in place and work in progress is communicated to Line Managers and team members.
Health & Safety
• Carry out Health & Safety inspections in accordance with the Health & Safety policy and procedure in place, and ensure actions are complete and/or progress on actions reported.
• Ensure that all work carried out within the team(s) is compliant with AU Health & Safety legislation and organisational Health & Safety policies and procedures.
General
• Participate in team and one-to-one meetings, and undertake as appropriate training relevant to the role as required.
• Keep up-to-date with developments and policies and procedures within the Company, that influence the day-to-day activities within the role, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and any other relevant internal/external factors e.g. Company policies and procedures, quality management standards, Health & Safety.
• Promote the Company by whatever means are appropriate and available so as to ensure a positive image to internal/external customers/clients.
• Ensure complete confidentiality is maintained in respect of the Company, its dealings, transactions, and all other information relating to clients / customers, staff etc.
• Demonstrate commitment to the aims and objectives of the Company and the implementation of its Equal Opportunities policy in the workplace.
PROFILE
• Have at least 5 years’ experience in similar or related roles.
• Possess a tertiary qualification relevant to the position such as University education equivalent to a Higher Engineering Diploma/Master’s Degree in the respective field or an Engineering Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience with office management software e.g. MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, specifically).

As part of the Regional Rail project, the Mindyarra Maintenance Centre in Dubbo will receive a new talented team for train completion works (Manufacturing, Testing and Quality activities), with potential transition in the future to the Warranty & Maintenance teams.
