What will be your role in the company?
The role is responsible for planning and controlling material and services demand across all UK projects, including current and future Overhaul Facilities (OH). It will also play a key role in the SAP S/4HANA implementation, ensuring data quality, process standardisation, and a smooth transition from legacy systems.
Your daily duties will include:
- Manage demand planning, inventory parameters, and reorder proposals across all UK projects, depots, and Overhaul Facilities, ensuring material availability and alignment with business needs
- Monitor material consumption for Corrective spares and define reorder levels across the business following CAF Inventory Policies and business needs.
- Produce and manage the weekly reorder list for Central Stores, ensuring timely order placement to avoid stockouts and material shortages.
- Prepare and submit a monthly material reorder proposal for all stores based on consumption data, lead times, and stock requirements.
- Act as SAP Key User for Demand Planning, supporting implementation, testing, training, data governance, and migration activities to ensure a successful transition to SAP in the UK.
- Execute the end of warranty material acquisition procedure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent alignment with CAF SA supply chain standards.
- Produce relevant and accurate reports and KPI’s requested by Head of Stores and Logistics
- On occasion carry out other activities to assist the business requirements, including support of stores in other projects (locations)
- Participate and coordinate periodical stocktaking of materials when required.
- Participate in team meetings, update trackers and KPIs as required
- Provide support to ensure the best logistics operations from Central Stores, and contribute to processes improvement and documentation
- Ensure compliance with all HSQE requirements
- Work as a team member of the Stores and Logistics department helping other areas as required
- When required, place orders on the system to pre-approved suppliers to complete the purchasing administrative process for Logistics dept.
What salary will you be paid in the role?
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £38,000 per annum.
What will make you successful in this position?
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- English language and Maths standard grade 3 or above (or equivalent).
- CIPS qualified or working towards is desirable
- Proven relevant experience in demand planning and supply chain activities.
- Proven relevant experience using an ERP System and computer skills.
- Advance Excel User ( Macro’s, Pivot Tables, Formulas)
- Previous experience working in an Engineering or Rail environment is desirable
