Mission of the position
The HR Advisor will play a pivotal role in supporting our colleagues and managers, across all areas of our business with employee relations; providing advice and guidance in relation to people management activities. This role requires a hands-on, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to delivering fair, efficient, and principled HR support. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, including the full spectrum of employee relations (ER) cases, while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
Functions and responsibilities
Lead and manage employee relations cases across the business, supporting and coaching managers to ensure legal compliance and compassionate handling. This includes recruitment, flexible working, disciplinary matters, performance management, grievance and whistleblowing, absence management (including long-term cases) and redundancy. This can include support in all aspects of the process, from investigation through to appeal.
Prioritise and plan effectively to manage multiple cases simultaneously and respond to urgent issues without compromising service quality.
Build trust with managers and employees, ensuring consistent and fair treatment adapted to individual needs.
Deliver training to people managers to enhance their skills and understanding of employee relations management and their responsibilities in this regard.
Produce and issue contracts and manage all correspondence to colleagues whilst ensuring the highest standards of quality.
Maintain digital records and systems with accurate employee information, ensuring compliance with all data protection regulations when managing sensitive personal data.
Provide excellent service to colleagues across our business, supporting their individual needs and answering queries across a range of topics.
Provide support and assistance to the wider HR and Support Services team where needed, including collaboration on joint projects where appropriate.
Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to company policies, employment law, and health and safety regulations.
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and contribute to the company’s strategic goals.
Training required
Essential
CIPD Level 3 - Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice or relevant experience.
Desirable
CIPD Membership
