What will be your role in the company?

 

As a Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring that CAF Rail UK’s products and services meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of quality systems, coordinate audits, and work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold CAF’s commitment to excellence at our UK Overhaul facility and Stores Facility Stockport. The role will also require support of the central UK Quality management systems along with the HSQE Manager and Head of Compliance.

 

Your daily duties will include:

 

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, IRIS, RISQS, etc.).
  • Establish requirements to deliver the implementation of ISO9001 and RISAS within new and emerging projects.
  • Monitor and report on quality performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Investigate non-conformities, customer complaints, and quality issues; lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support supplier quality assurance activities, including audits and performance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with regulatory and company standards.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across all departments.
  • Provide training and guidance on quality procedures and standards to staff
  • Support maintenance, engineering and procurement with the delivery of robust and compliant systems and processes in line with Rail Industry and UK standards.

 

What salary will you be paid for this role?

 

As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary of £45,000 per annum.

 

What will make you successful in this position?

 

To succeed in this role you will need:

 

  • Relevant qualifications in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field (e.g., CQI, IRCA certification) are desirable.
  • Proven experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, ideally within the rail, automotive, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.
  • Experience with audit processes and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
  • Language: English. A knowledge of Spanish would be beneficial but not essential.
