Overview

The Operations Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of a manufacturing process and ensure the assembly process meets safety, quality, and delivery targets, as well as budgeted costs.  This role is responsible for optimizing daily operations, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to manufacturing standards, policies, and procedures. 

 

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

 

  • Achieve the objectives set in relation to time, quality and cost
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise the work of operations employees
  • Ensure all operational procedures, standardized work, and quality methods are followed and documented
  • Maintain a clean, structured, and efficient production environment
  • Promote and direct continuous improvement plans
  • Key driver of implementation and maintenance of employee/supervisor training programs
  • Build and support a high performance culture focused on problem solving and accountability
  • Work closely with supply chain, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure production readiness and efficiency
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) daily, weekly, monthly
  • The individual shall be fully responsible and accountable for all safety and environmental compliance within their designated area, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations, organizational policies, and operational standards without exception

 

TRAINING/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

 

  • BS/MS degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field
  • 10 – 15 years of supervisory or manufacturing experience in automotive manufacturing/assembly/sales or a similar high-volume environment
  • Proven experience in production/line management and continuous improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Ability to work in a high pressure environments
  • Must be a self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills essential for day to day operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and other computer skills

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Shall report all injuries/illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident
  • Shall report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to their supervisor
  • Shall comply with all CAF USA safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures
  • Shall wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is communicated and supplied to them
  • Shall keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times
  • Shall attend all CAF USA required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work
  • Shall NOT operate any CAF USA equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,000 to $130,000 annually.
