Overview

The successful candidate will have the responsibility to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance and associated safety protocols.  As a part of our team, you will ensure the smooth operation of all electrical systems, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe working environment.

Functional Description

  • Install and perform preventive maintenance/repairs on electrical systems such as transformers, switchgear, HVAC electrical components, and power distribution panels up to 480 Volt AC and 1550 Volt DC.
  • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in systems including lighting, climate control, and       security, identifying faults and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify issues like wear, corrosion, or malfunction, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
  • Install and replace electrical components, including wiring, circuit breakers, and panels, following blueprints, schematics, and applicable codes.
  • Utilize test equipment to diagnose issues and verify system performance, ensuring reliability and compliance with operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, OSHA regulations, and safety standards, maintaining accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repair of automation and control systems, such as energy management systems, fire alarms, communication systems and security equipment.
  • Support the development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules to improve performance and reduce downtime.
  • Respond quickly to emergency electrical issues, providing efficient solutions to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance safety, energy efficiency, and overall system effectiveness.

Training/Education Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical certification or vocational training in electrical maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of related experience as an electrical maintenance technician, electrician, or similar role.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools, such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, etc.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to document work performed accurately.

Safety Requirements

  • Shall report all injuries/illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident
  • Shall report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to their supervisor
  • Shall comply with all CAF USA safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures
  • Shall wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is communicated and supplied to them
  • Shall keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times
  • Shall attend all CAF USA required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work
  • Shall NOT operate any CAF USA equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $32/hr to $39/hr.
