Warranty Engineer

Warranty Engineer / CAF Rail Australia - Dubbo

We are currently seeking a Warranty Engineer, based in Dubbo, reports to the Warranty Manager and is responsible for overall performance and reliability of the fleet.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•             Ongoing review and improvement of fleet performance and reliability

o             Investigating Service Failures

o             Preparing performance overview fortnightly for the FRACAS meeting

o             Management of planning and implementation of modifications

o             Trend identification and analysis that leads onto fleet checks/engineering change requests engineering change request (ECR) if a systematic fault is identified

o             Raising ECR’s and investigating systematic failures and gathering data on failures

•             Liaising with clients, suppliers and CAF Spain on all reliability and performance issues this includes attending regular meetings regarding the following:

o             Weekly SAF meetings

o             Modification meetings with the client and operator

o             CAF representation on relevant meetings

o             Performance overview meetings

o             ECR meetings with CAF SA representative

o             Other meetings as required

•             Compiling reports as required

•             Running training sessions from time to time

•             General duties as directed by management

•             Actively participate in promoting health and safety in the workplace and encouraging others to do the same. Take part in health and safety initiatives, such as workplace inspections, hazard identification and others as required.

•             Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all health and safety, quality and environmental legislative requirements.

•             Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner in line with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality consciousness. Advise management of any changes in materials, plant or processes which may impact on safety, quality or the environment, as well as any improvements that could advance CAF’s quality and environmental performance.

PROFILE

Education: Higher Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Qualification or relevant years’ experience.

Work Experience:

•             5+ years' experience working within the rail industry

•             10+ years' experience working in a maintenance environment

As part of the Regional Rail project, the Mindyarra Maintenance Centre in Dubbo will receive a new talented team for train completion works (Manufacturing, Testing and Quality activities), with potential transition in the future to the Warranty & Maintenance teams.
