Painter - CAF Rail Australia - Dubbo

We are currently seeking a Painter that will be directly reporting to the Train Assembly Team Leader within the Mindyarra Maintenance Centre based in Dubbo. The role is responsible for Paint work within the project.

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform minor surface preparation, sanding, masking, and touch up painting on rolling stock units.

• Mix and prepare paints and related materials according to established specifications.

• Conduct small corrections, repairs, and finish improvements as directed by the supervisor.

• Take basic measurements such as film thickness, gloss, or adhesion when required.

• Maintain proper use and care of painting tools, compressors, and equipment.

• Complete assigned control sheets or records as required by the company.

• Keep the work area clean, orderly, and compliant with safety and environmental procedures.

• Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately and follow all safety protocols.

• Support mechanical fitting activities during Train Completion Works, assisting technicians with basic assembly, re fit, or minor mechanical tasks when required to ensure unit readiness.

 

PROFILE

• Have at least 2 years’ experience in similar or related roles.

As part of the Regional Rail project, the Mindyarra Maintenance Centre in Dubbo will receive a new talented team for train completion works (Manufacturing, Testing and Quality activities), with potential transition in the future to the Warranty & Maintenance teams.
