What will your role be in the company?

 

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for developing, optimising and assuring fleet maintenance strategies to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective rolling stock performance. The role supports maintenance planning, correct maintenance execution, overhaul programmes, asset management, reliability improvement and technical governance activities, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory and OEM requirements. Working closely with Operations, Planning, Engineering and external stakeholders, the Maintenance Engineer drives continuous improvement initiatives to maximise fleet availability and performance.

What Salary will you be paid for this role?

As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £60000 - £65,000 per annum.

What will make you successful in this position?

 
  • Proven experience in a Maintenance Engineering role within the rolling stock, railway or other safety-critical asset-intensive industries.
  • Experience in the development, implementation and optimisation of maintenance strategies, maintenance programmes and overhaul activities.
  • Experience in reliability engineering, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), asset management and maintenance performance improvement.
  • Experience managing engineering changes, technical documentation and maintenance assurance activities within a controlled engineering environment.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder management skills, supported by practical experience with Excel, CMMS and asset management systems.
