We are currently seeking a Program Manager. Based in Canberra, the mission of the Program Manager (PM) is to fulfill the contract with the client and the internal requirements. The position is responsible for the economic result of the program and leads the monitoring of costs, deadlines and other program indicators. Leads the dialogue with the Client.

Fundamental roles and responsibilities which are inherent to the position:

  • Leads the Program Team, streamlines internal communication, and maintains team motivation. Ultimately, makes the decisions within the Program Team.
  • Participates and validates the sizing of the Program Team based on knowledge of the areas and the budget.
  • Execute team Corporate processes and activities.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes activities of program team members.
  • Transfer commercial contract to program management.
  • Ultimately responsible for compliance with the agreed program plan together with the Core team, it is responsible for monitoring the action plans to meet the deadline objectives and promoting in the team the resolution of escalated issues from other forums related to deadlines.
  • Accountable for Deliverables management and results.
  • Accountable for requirements through the project.
  • Manage expenses.
  • Identify spare parts, special tools and test benches.
  • Request Economic Department to open the program key, as well as identify the cost centers and provide them with a budget.
  • Structure the relationship between the subsidiary and the parent company within the framework of the program (subcontract, working capital management, financial scheme, ERP, exchange insurance, tax scheme, billing scheme, etc.).
  • Lead and organize program meetings
  • Issue guarantees and insurance.
  • Manage Program risks
  • Management of billing, guarantees and collections (with the support of the contract manager if necessary)
  • Define and control the evolution of quality/cost/terms of the program, including non-quality costs
  • Track local budget and approve locally issued invoices.
  • Transfer project to Rail Services, if applicable.
  • Coordinate delivery activities with the customer.
  • Close pending points.
  • Prepare the project closure report.
  • Contractual management:
  • Report internally, both to management, program participants and the client, on the status of the program.
  • Ensure (feed, consult apply) the use of the Lessons Learned Database.
  • Comply with the responsibilities assigned in the processes in general and ensure compliance in terms of quality, product safety, prevention of occupational and environmental risks.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all health and safety, quality and environmental legislative requirements.

 

Education:

  • A degree in relevant disciplines associated with the role.

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in similar roles.
  • Previous experience in a similar environment.
