Testing and Commissioning Manager

Reporting to: Testing Project Manager (Corporate Level).
Location: Cairo - Kozzika.
Mission of the position
As a Testing & Commissioning Manager, your mission is to lead the local Testing & Commissioning team within a Retrofit project. You will be the primary link between CAF and the Client regarding train delivery, ensuring the successful execution of static and dynamic tests in compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will also manage local resources and coordinate with internal departments to guarantee seamless test planning, execution, and reporting.
Functions and responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the local T&C team.
- Organize, prepare, and execute factory and on-track tests in alignment with validation procedures.
- Manage test incidents in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Plan and allocate resources to meet quality, cost, and timeline goals.
- Present test progress and results to the Client.
- Follow up and report to the Core Team on testing milestones and deadlines.
- Ensure efficient use of T&C resources within the program budget.
- Coordinate logistics and team readiness for test execution and vehicle delivery.
- Serve as the main Client interface for delivery-related aspects.
- Promote and apply the Lessons Learned Database.
- Ensure adherence to CAF’s processes for Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment.
- Actively promote health and safety practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education required
- University degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Required professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years in a similar role in the railway or industrial sector.
- Proven track record in leading Testing & Commissioning activities.
- Experience in client-facing roles and cross-functional collaboration.
- Background in working under high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
Competencies
Technical and/or practical knowledge valued
- Technical and/or practical knowledge valued
- Solid understanding of train systems and commissioning procedures.
- Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and mechanics is a plus.
- Knowledge of test protocols and validation procedures.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and technical reporting tools.
Languages:
Mandatory: English and Arabic
Preferred: Spanish, French
