Purchasing and Logistics Manager

Mission of the position
As a Purchasing and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing the best quality equipment, goods, and services for the company at the most competitive prices while ensuring timely delivery. You will oversee stock management, material optimization, and supplier relations to guarantee the smooth operation of the supply chain.
Functions and responsibilities
- Forecast demand for services and products to meet business needs while maintaining constant stock level checks.
- Manage materials, including stock optimization and effective logistics and store processes.
- Research and identify the best suppliers, ensuring value, quality, and timely delivery.
- Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, internal departments, and customers.
- Identify potential suppliers and maintain strong relationships with existing ones.
- Support HSQE by delivering the supplier audit program.
- Manage warranty contracts with suppliers.
- Oversee internal supply chain processes with the Mother Company and its subsidiaries.
Education required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
Required professional experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management in the rolling stock field are required .
- In-depth knowledge of goods import rules and local market conditions.
- Proven experience in cost-saving strategies and negotiations.
- Experience in managing teams and coordinating across departments.
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and other relevant software.
Competencies
Technical and/or practical knowledge valued
- Knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and purchasing processes.
- Understanding of local market dynamics and import/export regulations.
- Experience with SAP and other relevant soft programs for logistics and inventory management.
- Familiarity with supplier relationship management and warranty contracts.
Languages:
- Mandatory: English and Arabic
- Preferred: Spanish, French
