Mechanical Assembly Team Leader

Mission of the position

To lead and supervise the mechanical assembly activities of trains after the painting phase until delivery to testing. The position ensures high-quality assembly, team coordination, adherence to production plans, and implementation of safety and quality procedures.

Functions and responsibilities

  • Participate in the prototype train assembly in Spain to:

    • Learn assembly processes.

    • Identify and record reassembled parts and materials.

    • Suggest improvements to technical documentation.

    • Validate mechanical assembly instructions and tools.

  • Supervise the serial train mechanical assembly at Kozzika Workshop, including:

    • Assembly of interior components: panels, windows, floors, ceilings, seats, and equipment.

    • Supervision of underframe and roof equipment installation.

    • Manage jacking, bogie coupling, and final assembly steps.

    • Ensure proper use of documentation, instruction sheets, and control cards.

    • Monitor adherence to production planning and report progress.

    • Coordinate with the warehouse to secure material availability.

    • Ensure implementation of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) and CAF quality standards.

    • Manage team performance, assign tasks, and collect daily reports.

    • Collaborate with Quality to resolve Non-Conformities (NCRs).

Education required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Required professional experience

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience in a supervisory role.

  • Preferably with prior experience in train maintenance or modernisation.

Technical and/or practical knowledge valued

  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly processes.

  • Familiarity with tools and consumables for mechanical operations.

  • Good understanding of industrial technical drawings and instruction sheets.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

  • English level B2 or equivalent (spoken and written).

  • Availability for training in Spain for 4–6 months.
