Purpose of the Role
The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management, accounting oversight, and internal control framework of the U.S. site, ensuring compliance with local regulations (US GAAP), the accuracy of financial information, and alignment with the corporate guidelines of the Spanish parent company. This role ensures rigorous, periodic, and transparent reporting to the headquarters in Spain and to global leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise general accounting in accordance with US GAAP and corporate policies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage the month-end closing process and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Lead cost control for railway manufacturing, including variance analysis and operational KPIs.
- Prepare financial analyses for strategic decisions: investments, operational efficiency, and profitability of railway projects.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax obligations in the U.S.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls aligned with corporate requirements.
- Act as financial partner to the Site Director and serve as liaison with the CFO in Spain.
- Ensure detailed reporting to Spanish headquarters, including forecast, budget, cash flow, and variance analysis.
- Optimize financial processes and promote standardization
- Lead and coordinate the local finance team.
Relationship with Spanish Headquarters
- Structured monthly reporting following corporate formats.
- Continuous coordination with the finance team in Spain to ensure global consistency.
- Participation in global planning processes: annual budget, forecast, and strategic plans.
- Alignment with corporate financial, internal control, and compliance policies.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. MBA or CPA/CMA certifications are a plus.
- 5–8 years of experience in controlling or finance, ideally in the industrial or railway sector.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience in multinational environments.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced analytical tools.
- Fluent in English; Spanish highly valued.
- Proven ability to work under strict deadlines and deliver demanding reporting cycles.
