The Electromechanical Integration Engineer will be responsible for integration of the various subsystems into the rolling stock. This extends from requirements management, through design, produce purchasing specifications and technical documentation, support material procurement, customer interfacing, design review, and support industrialization activities. It will also be his/her responsibility to manage and assure the cost, time & quality of the engineering packages managed in-house or outsourced to subcontractors.


He/She will work closely with suppliers, sub-contractors, internal team in engineering & other departments and with customers.




  • To develop and deliver high quality engineering design work for allocated design packages of assemblies, subassemblies, parts and components, FEM calculations, etc within defined timescales. Both for local & international bids and/or projects.
  • Define and validate technical specifications for materials (cables, harnesses, connectors, metal plates, etc).
  • Work closely with other members of bid/project to ensure proper coordination to achieve overall design integrity.
  • Requirement management. Ensure designs are compliant to customer and legislative requirements, including design review and design verification and validation process.
  • Management of outsourcing engineering and consultancies. Work with suppliers to ensure designs are fit for purpose.
  • Support customer design review process (produce technical documentation and attend design review meetings)
  • Adapt current product solutions and develop new designs for bids/projects (ensure re-use of design)
  • Solve problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Supports industrialization and production teams during manufacturing and validation.
  • Be fully aware about industry standards, good industry practices and companies’ product portfolio, processes, design guides and apply them to the assigned bid/project.
  • Work in multi-cultural team spread across various time zones.









  • Master or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng)



Professional Experience:

  • Experienced (a minimum of 2 years) in railway (rolling stock) design and development of installation design of subassemblies, either new build, retro-fitment, modification or refurbishment, including the ability to understand the inputs required to support the development of a successful design, and the ability to produce designs which accommodate the product lifecycle (manufacture, install, test, operate, maintain, remove, dispose).
  • Advanced knowledge in systems integrations such as: roof and underframe equipment integration, cabinet design, cable routing harnesses definition, etc. 





  • Advanced knowledge in CAD design tools (3d Experience, CATIA V5)
  • Knowledge and experience in DOORS tool will be added advantage.
  • Very good interpersonal and organization skills, open minded, excellent abilities for team work.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office tools.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods for rolling stock an its components.
  • Availability for frequent travelling within India and Internationally.
  • Very Good English both written and Spoken
