What is required
We are hiring a person to assume the role of Buyer – Railway business who will be incorporated in CAF India and will be integrated into the Sourcing team of the Railway Business.
Category includes the purchase of components for railway applications mainly for rolling stock but could also include signaling or other rail systems. The following are examples of parts to be procured
- Sheet metal parts, Welded and machined parts
- Aluminum, Carbon steel, Stainless steel parts
- Castings,
- FRP parts,
- Electrical components,
- Sub-systems e.g. Door, HVAC, Brakes, Propulsion, Battery, Rubber metal parts
Your primary mission will be to identify and capture savings opportunities throughout the entire purchasing value chain.
Some of the main responsibilities of this role are
- Search for suppliers and negotiate purchase conditions,
- Launch purchase orders and supervise the correct functioning of administrative purchasing processes,
- Supervise performance of suppliers and carry out comprehensive contract management
- Report the status of purchasing categories
- Work closely with cross functional team to fulfill the responsibilities assigned time to time
Minimum requirements
Education
Engineering Graduate from reputed College
Professional experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing departments in Multinational Companies.
Experience in the Railway/Metro/Aerospace industry will be positively valued.
Required Languages:
Mandatory: English
The following will be positively valued: Spanish.
