Key Responsibilities and Challenges

  • Design and develop electrical schematics for railway vehicles.
  • Implement and configure wired logic systems.
  • Define and document specific use cases for railway vehicles.
  • Participate in technical reviews and project meetings.
  • Participate in discussions with end customer to find out the most suitable solution.
  • Development and delivery of high-quality engineering design work, within defined budgets and timescales.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper systems integration.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize electrical and control systems.
  • Ensure the design complies with customer requirements and meets quality standards and applicable regulations & standards, following the design verification and validation process.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field.

 

 

Experience

  • Proven experience (>3 years) in designing electrical schematics and wired logic systems.
  • Experience of using EPLAN or similar design tools to create detailed electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) tools and electrical simulation software.
  • Good Knowledge in the electrical apparatus market (pushbuttons, relays, contactors, Circuit breakers, Power Supply units, signal adapters, semiconductors, terminal blocks and modular connectors, etc.) and be able to identify new solutions or select products from a wide catalogue of suppliers.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • An excellent knowledge of System Integration.
  • Experience in the railway sector or similar complex projects.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge and awareness of product lifecycle and project phases.
  • Good Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. Knowledge of tools like IBM-DOORS & 3DExperience is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work in a high-level collaborative multicultural environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.
  • Client-oriented: Knowledge, awareness and interest in the Client (internal and/or external) needs.
  • Results-oriented: Pro-active in the role and ability to focus activities towards achieving objectives.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

 

Other requirements

  • Ability for frequent national and/or international travelling as per project needs.
  • Full proficiency in English language is must, both verbal and written. Optional requirement Spanish, French, German.
