What will be your role in the company?

 

The HSQE Manager is CAF’s subject matter leader regarding the provision of a comprehensive and legislatively / regulatory compliant HSQE service within the UK Subsidiary of Rail Services. This wide-ranging role provides a broad and varied degree of organisational governance whilst taking a lead responsibility for Health & Safety frameworks (including health surveillance & fatigue management), risk management principles and processes as well as audit and certification programs. A critical role for the organisation the ability to support stakeholders across the business with the breadth of activities requires a proactive multi-tasker who is adept at delivering in a highly regulated environment.

 

Y our daily duties will include:

 

  • Lead the HSQE UK Team to deliver a comprehensive support service to meet the ever- evolving needs of the organisation. While ensuring dedicated sites remain supported and engaged with safety performance and compliance.
  • Devise a robust HSQE strategy, in line with legal, regulatory, industry, business and customer requirements and ensure appropriate policies, procedures are in place to support and govern a successful implementation and ongoing adherence.
  • Deliver against an agreed set of objectives and KPIs aligned to the organisation’s strategy and objectives agreed and defined by the Head of Compliance.
  • Support the planning, delivery and governance in relation to relevant agreed program of actions and activities to ensure the maintenance of current and agreed certifications are obtained in line with business objectives.
  • Responsible for delivery of the CAF Rail UK internal and external audit program agreed by the CAF Rail Services committee.
  • Devise, implement and govern a robust health surveillance program across the organisation which ensures that all CAF’s employees receive required surveillance ensuring personal, legislative and regulatory requirements are achieved.
  • The subject matter expert for governance across the organisation the HSQE Manager, and their team, will provide wide ranging support across a wide variety of business areas to ensure robust governance structures are in place and being adhered to including the Governance and effective implementation of the CAF Rail UK integrated management systems.

 

What salary will you be paid for this role?

 

As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £50,000 per annum

 

 

What will make you successful in this position?

 

To succeed in this role you will need:

 

  • An appropriate and relevant qualification in Health & Safety (i.e. NEBOSH General Minimum)
  • An appropriate and relevant qualification in auditing (i.e. IIA)
  • An appropriate and relevant qualification in Environmental Management (i.e. IEMA)
  • Proven experience in devising and implementing a HSQE strategy
  • Comprehensive and up to date legislative and regulatory knowledge across the whole HSQE spectrum.
  • Experience policy and procedure writer who can ensure such documents are compliant and in line with the organisation’s culture and values.
  • Proficient internal auditor with a proven track record in supporting organisations through challenging external audits.
  • Demonstrable experience in implementing frameworks and governing compliance against them across a multi-site organisation
  • Strong IT and systems knowledge across a broad range of systems
  • Experienced in managing system integration projects
