Overview

The successful candidate will undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises. Will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as painting, building/machinery repairs/PM, landscaping etc.  Will be a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.  The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.

Functional Description

  • Responsible for installation, maintaining, and repairing equipment
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, assist with new electrical installations, etc.)
  • Ability to perform PM on heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
  • Offer input in budget preparation and ensure it is followed
  • Operate forklift throughout the facility performing waste management duties
  • Ability to write/follow work instructions for PM’s throughout the facility
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Training/Education Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in building/machinery maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Two or more years of related experience
  • Proven experience as maintenance technician
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime

Safety Requirements

  • Shall report all injuries/illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident
  • Shall report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to their supervisor
  • Shall comply with all CAF USA safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures
  • Shall wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is communicated and supplied to them
  • Shall keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times
  • Shall attend all CAF USA required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work
  • Shall NOT operate any CAF USA equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $30.00/hour to $37.00/hour.
