Warranty Technician

Mission of the position
CAF is one of the international market leaders in the design, manufacturing and maintenance of modern rolling stock. CAF has delivered the agreed 30 Metros of the M7 series to the client GVB in Amsterdam. CAF Netherlands B.V. is therefore looking for a competent Warranty Technician to perform repairs and maintenance activities on the metros at the GVB Diemen depot.

The needed candidate
You are someone that lives in the Netherlands and is willing to travel to Diemen to work. As an all-round mechanic or Warranty Technician, you have a broad technical background (both electrical and mechanical), experience with troubleshooting and you are able to provide solutions for improving complex systems. You investigate defects, make diagnoses and provide technical information about the defects found. In addition, you write reports, discuss the analysis of the technical points with your supervisor and implement the solutions found. You work together in a small international team and are prepared to work different shifts, both during the week and at the weekend. A shift allowance is awarded for working in shifts. The Warranty Technician reports to the Warranty Engineer.
Responsibilities
As a Warranty Technician you will be working in an international environment and a highly motivated team. You will report to the Warranty Engineer. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Reparation of machinery and equipment installed in the metro units.
- Providing technical information in the investigation and diagnosis of failure of the rolling stock.
- Writing working reports and communicating with the Warranty Engineer to analyze technical problems and implement solutions
- Working in conjunction with the Warranty Group to ensure accurate communication of all issues and resolve potential or existing issues in a timely manner.
- Knowing and following all work instructions, guidelines, customer specific requirements and company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- An education in electrics, electronics or mechatronics (minimal MBO 3 level) is preferred.
- At least a year of experience in the railway sector in either aftersales or industrial maintenance.
- Technical skills must include a strong understanding of machinery electronic, electrical, mechanical systems.
- Solid understanding of maintenance processes and previous experience in diagnosing and solving technical problems
- Driver’s license and/or safety certifications (such as VCA) are appreciated.
- A warranty background and/or experience is preferred.
- Fluent in English

- Definite contract of 1 year with one month probation period with possibility of extension.
- Min. € 2.800,- and max. € 3.400,- (Monthly Gross) depending on background and experience
- Shift Allowance of 14% of the monthly salary.
- 27 holidays and 13 roster free days (ADV) per annum, based on 40 hours per week
- Travel allowance of € 0,23 per km for max. 50 km per day
- CAF is part of the Collective Labour Agreement in the metal industry (Metalektro)
